to cloud readiness

Telenet group is a household name in Belgium, serving both residential and business customers under brands like Telenet, BASE, and TADAAM. Behind the scenes, their internal teams rely on Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence to deliver, collaborate, and innovate.

Until recently, those tools were hosted on-premise. But as cloud capabilities grew, the gap between what was possible on-premise and what the cloud version offered widened. “We knew we couldn’t keep up with future needs if we stayed where we were,” says Kristof, Project Manager. “The cloud offered features and agility we simply couldn’t access before.”

The challenge: zero disruption for thousands of users

A move of this scale doesn’t happen overnight. With 4,000 to 5,000 users across multiple teams, vendors, and functions, Telenet group required the migration to happen fast, clean, and invisible to the business.

The weekend of truth. “We knew Friday night what would happen hour by hour. That was only possible because we’d already done it. Repeatedly,” Jan explains. The go-live weekend itself went better than expected: zero hiccups, thousands of users live, no incidents. But the impact doesn’t stop there.

Now that the platform is cloud-based, new possibilities are opening fast. “We’re experimenting with AI-powered features, rolling out new modules, and changing the way we support teams,” says Kristof. “We couldn’t have done that without this migration.”

What’s more, Telenet group now has a scalable, standardised environment that supports both IT governance and business agility. Internal change becomes easier. Innovation cycles get shorter. Teams can take ownership.
